November 11th 2016 saw GameFace Show taking over a whole day of Manchester's Sonder Festival at Bar 21, with a main event boasting a raft of chiptune artists from across the UK and Europe. On the day itself, Joe Bleeps battled Alex Lane and, despite a close call from the judges, ultimately conceded defeat. Here are Joe's tunes from rounds 1, 2 and 3 of his battle with Alex.
As part of the build to this event there was the possibility that many battles might take place, therefore much material needed to be created. As a result, the usual rules were relaxed slightly, allowing previous material and unfinished works to be adapted into the familiar 16, 16, 32 bar setup for the battle rounds. These three rounds were adapted from the original song "Battlecharge" from the 2015 Joe Bleeps EP "Escape".
